Absence Procedures

Parents are requested to phone the toll-free
#(1-877-409-6310) or log in to the designated web site:(hdsb.schoolconnects.com) to report student absences or late arrivals.

In cases where a pro-longed absence is anticipated, the teacher should be contacted in order that some arrangements can be made for assistance or work to be sent home, if at all possible or practical.

If your child does not arrive at school and we have not heard from you, our volunteer parent will phone you or one of the individuals you have designated as your emergency contact. Please be sure that your contacts are aware of their responsibilities in case they need to be reached.

Parent Volunteers

We are happy to welcome parent volunteers into our classrooms and on field trips. Each volunteer is required to have their criminal background check completed and filed in our office before you begin as a volunteer at River Oaks
Gradual Entry Information

All Kindergarten Families will receive a letter later in the summer (August) letting them know who their child's teacher will be and when they will be coming to school for their "Welcome to Kindergarten" visits and for their first full day of school. Please tuck this letter in a safe place for future reference.
