This Week at River Oaks

River Oaks FAX Sept. 26-30, 2016
Our leadership conference was a hit last week. Troy Sexton, a member of the group "Stomp" drove home the idea of working together by having our grade 7&8 students create some intricate drumming rhythms. Our students came away with a positive message to start of the year with.
Co-curriculars are alive and well. Choir, our bands, volleyball and cross country are all up and running. Preparations for our musical Annie are under way and our guitar club is rocking the house. To add to this our River Oaks Leadership Council (ROLC) has started its work in organizing events at the school.
This week we're having our Terry Fox Run starting at 1:10 p.m. Please come and join us. We're asking students to bring in a toonie for Terry. If you would like to donate more to the cure for cancer you are welcome to.
Friday is our school's Cross Country meet at Sherwood forest park in Burlington. Our kids have been training hard and we are sending a large team to represent River Oaks.
The format for our Open House on October 6th will be like the one we had a couple of years ago. We’ll be starting with a barbeque so that parents and students can get to know one another. From 5:30-6:15 we’ll be having a cash, pay as you go, barbeque. More information regarding menu selections and prices will be sent out soon. From 6:15-7:00 parents and students will visit the classrooms.
